The Music is an integrated collection of poems written over a six-year period. The music Norris charts is “the music of everyday life,” of Charlie Parker and Billie Holiday, of sex and jazz, of poetry and baseball. An exciting collection by a writer who has been called “one of the best poets of his generation” (Matrix).
Ken Norris teaches Canadian literature at the University of Maine. He has published extensively as a poet, has edited numerous anthologies of poetry and poetics, and has translated two volumes of poetry by Chilean exile Elias Letelier-Ruz.
