Position Available: Marketing Coordinator

ECW Press is seeking a full-time Marketing Coordinator. ECW Press is an independent, Canadian-owned book publisher developing, producing, and promoting fifty original books each year in fiction, poetry, mystery, young adult, pop culture, sports, memoir, pop science, social history, and more. The ideal candidate will be a creative and motivated self-starter with a love of books.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

‌• Assisting with marketing campaigns for ~50 new books per year, plus a hearty backlist
‌• Helping authors to build a strong online presence
‌• Managing and monitoring ECW’s social accounts, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Goodreads, and Reco
‌• Researching and implementing new, untapped social channels
‌• Designing marketing materials, including catalogues, flyers, print/web advertisements, event invitations, infographics, and website banner graphics
‌• Keeping ECW’s website up to date with new title information, promotions, and regular blog posts
‌• Planning, creating, and distributing multiple e-newsletters each month to various lists
‌• Evaluating digital metrics and campaign analytics, and providing weekly reports
‌• Posting event listings
‌• Conducting research on key influencers, librarians, and booksellers
‌• Doing occasional marketing mailings
‌• Posting and updating digital catalogue listings
‌• Maintaining and fulfilling ‘free ebook’ email requests
‌• Assisting the marketing director with tasks as required


    ‌• University graduate
    ‌• Certificate in book publishing, marketing, or equivalent experience
    ‌• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    ‌• Very strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
    ‌• Well-equipped to work under pressure and meet regular deadlines
    ‌• Pro-active and willing to take on new challenges
    ‌• Proven ability and experience with InDesign and Photoshop, as well as a keen eye for design
    ‌• Proficiency with MS Office, Acrobat, FileMaker Pro, Asana, Google Analytics, AdWords,‌ Shopify, Hootsuite, HTML, and CMS programming an asset

      Additional Information:

      The ECW Press office is in Toronto’s East Chinatown at 665 Gerrard Street East. Office hours are roughly 9–5, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend events offsite.
